Hi

I have an antivirus pro 2009 infection, and it won't let me run anything that will get rid of it. Here is My HijackThis Log. Is there anybody that can tell me what to delete?

Also, I am able to download the MalwareBytes program, but everytime I try to install it, it gets halfway through the installation and freezes

Thanks!

Hello wilsoff, welcome to the Myantispyware forum!

Try these methods:
1. Rename installation file.
Rename installation file of Malwarebytes anti-malware ("mbam-setup.exe"), to "wb3nq1.exe" or use any name with random numbers and symbols.
Run the file.

2. Safe mode.
Reboot your PC in the Safe mode.
Quote:
* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
* Select the "Safe mode", to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Run mbam-setup.exe.

I tried both methods, when I rename it, it still gets halfway through the file extracting process and freezes up. In safe mode, I double click on the file and nothing happens.

It does look like the malwarebytes program has loaded at least partially on my computer, but nothing happens when I try to open it

I also read through some other forums with people who had the same problem and used HyjackThis to fix the following things

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Antivirus Pro 2009] "C:\Program Files\AntivirusPro2009\AntivirusPro2009.exe" /hide
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SVCHOST.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\svchost.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [brastk] C:\WINDOWS\system32\brastk.exe
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: karna.dat?????5.1

It looks like the antivirus pro is gone as well as the red circle with a white "X" through it that kept telling me I had viruses, but there are still websites that I cannot access and when I do a google search and click on a link, it takes me to another non-related website

Any other suggestions?

HijackThis can`t help you here.

Quote:

You have removed only autorun point of antivirus pro, but trojan (installer of auntivirus pro) still alive.

Download Combofix. Run and follow the prompts.

If run of combofix will be blocked, then rename combofix.exe to any random name.
If download of combofix will be blocked, then reboot in the Safe mode with networking by doing:
Quote:
* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
* Select the "Safe mode with networking", to run Windows in Safe Mode.

and try download again.

Post back with combofix log.
