Hello,

I have been having some maddening popup issues over the past several days and have tried to fix them using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program, BitDefender, CWShredder, and ATF-Cleaner among others. After running the Anti-Malware program I discovered I had the Vundo trojan. It said it was deleted but as soon as I opened Internet Explorer the popups started again.

I've also noticed that my computer is running a lot slower and it seems to take forever to restart. Anyway, if someone could please give me some advice on what to do next to get rid of this sucker I would deeply appreciate it. Here is my HijackThis log:

Run HijackThis. Click “Do a system scan only.” and put a checkmark next to the following item, if exist:

Now close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click “Fix Checked” to have HijackThis fix the entries you checked.

Download combofix. Close any open browsers. Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

Make a fresh HijackThis log.

Post back with following:
- combofix log
- hijackthis log

Not having any popups now so it looks like it worked. Is there anything else I need to do?

Now uninstall combofix.
Quote:
Start > Run - type ComboFix /u
Press Ok.


Open SymantecAntiVirus control center and enable autoprotection.

Make a new restore point.
Quote:
Disable system restore to flush out infected restore points. Reboot your computer again. Turn on Windows System Restore. After that click START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > SYSTEM RESTORE. click on “create new restore point” > click on NEXT and follow the prompts.
