Hello, I've been infected with AntispywareXP 2009 and I'm having a lot of problems with it. Fortunately it hasn't redirected me away from this forum. In my panic I mistakenly downloaded SpyHunter V.3 but uninstalled it from my computer after doing a search on my other computer. Sad

I haven't been able to download HijackThis or Combofix on the infected computer Properly since it redirects me. Sad

Further update: I've managed to get HijackThis and ComboFix on a flash drive and have installed HijackThis onto my desktop but...it won't start up.

Beforehand I emailed it to myself then after reading the directions again I installed it on my desktop. I only got the pop up box and then nothing else.

Now it won't even start.

Hello dranger13, welcome to the Myantispyware forum!

Looks like malware blocked all your attempts.
Please reboot your PC in the Safe mode with networking.
Quote:
- Restart your computer
- After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
- Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
- Select the "Safe mode with networking" option, to run Windows in Safe Mode with networking.

Try use Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.
Quote:
1. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM). The program designed to quickly detect, destroy and prevent malware, spyware, trojans.
2. Once downloaded, close all programs and Windows on your computer (including this one).
3. Double-click on the icon named mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
4. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
5. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
6 Once the program has loaded, select “Perform Quick Scan”, then click Scan.
7. MBAM will now start scanning your computer for malware. This process may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
8. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
9. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
10. MBAM will now delete all of the files and registry keys and add them to the quarantine.
11. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

Post a MBAM log with your answer.

Okay...

I started it in safe/networking mode like you said, tried to get Malwarebytes Anti Malware to run but that was also blocked.

Please download RSIT (is malware/spyware scanner) by random/random and save it to your desktop.
Quote:
* Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
* Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
* Once it has finished, two logs will open.

Please post the contents of both log.txt and info.txt in your next reply.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should download it on my other computer and save it to my USB drive.

Edit:

Okay I've saved it to my USB. Should I copy it to my desktop?

Yes, copy the file to your Desktop.
After that run and follow steps from my previous post.

I was also able to get the MBAM installer on my Flashdrive, FYI. Haven't used that yet though. Smile

Edit: Looks like it's going to take. From my Flash to desktop. Smile

Post a MBAM log with your answer.[/quote]

MBAM log shows, that you chose "No action taken".
You have removed all infected entries ?

Also please make a fresh rsit log and post with your answer.
