Myantispyware team discovered a new variant of the “I have to share bad news with you EMAIL” email scam targets Dutch users. The scammers changed the original English text and translated it into Dutch, and started using a new bitcoin wallet (133MphKowvCC1PDyfZVF9L76mQvxTtRY93). The size of the ransom has also changed, with the scammers now demanding 1450 EUR from their victims. Otherwise, everything remained the same, the scammers sent this scam to thousands of users, hoping that one of them would be naive enough to pay the required ransom.

“Ik heb slecht nieuws voor je” email message is new variant of Bitcoin blackmail scam. Bitcoin blackmail scam emails say that hackers hacked into the computer/phones/email account and recorded the victim visiting adult sites. They threaten to distribute the video to the victim’s family and friends, unless the victim pay into hackers bitcoin account. It is a scam. The people behind these emails are scammers. Don’t pay them anyway!
