Fast Disk is a fake hard disk defragmenter software. Of course, all of these errors are a fake. Thus, you can safety ignore the false scan results.
Fast Disk will block all Windows legitimate applications from running. Important to note, if you attempt to run a program enough times it will eventually work. The following warning will be shown when you attempt to run a program:
Windows detected a hard drive problem.
A hard drive error occurred while starting the application
Moreover, this malware will display various fake alerts. The text of some of the alerts are:
System Restore
The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.
Windows – No Disk
Exception Processing Message 0×0000013
Critical Error
A critical error has occurred while indexing data stored on hard drive. System restart required.
Just like false scan results above, all of these alerts are a fake and supposed to scare you into thinking your computer is in danger. You should ignore all of them!

Angelina, Malwarebytes will automatically remove all Fast Disk associated files, registry keys …
Agree with Angelina – I have tried Trend Micros HijackThis, Spybot S&D, Nortons and McAffee and none of them can kill ‘Fast Disk’, even in Safe Mode with Net Support, as Fast Disk has corrupted the browser, has disabled my Windows Control Panel and Sys Restore. I cannot even bring up the Win Task manager. After taking advice from these other utilities developers, now you want me to install a fifth one, called Malwarebytes? Yet, your artice above is word for word, exactly the same instructions as tthe other four anti-utilities. Sorry to sound synical, but why should I trust Malwarebytes more tha those other four? What details can you give me, to insure “Malwarebytes will automatically remove all Fast Disk associated files, registry keys” …? Especially since “That” is exactly what the other guys wrote to me also, but it read like this – Hijack This will automatically remove all Fast Disk associated files and registry keys.
I apologize for the double post, but I have so many details, I think needs to be said and asked about. The ‘Fast Disk baddy’ is on my neighbors Compaq Pressario, Win Vista Home Premium, 32 bit OS and they kept rebooting their sys and trying to solve it themselves manually, for two days, before they decided to call me for help. I am a bit more careful than that with my home network and our four PCs are running flawlessly, at this point. I also want a solution, how to track down the file this trojan came with? The time stamps seem to match up with Snag bar(cheat bar) that was installed for Facebooks Farmville, but how can we be sure and then should we warn Zynga(The developers of Farmville)? I do not want to give them false information.
One last question: Can I fit Malwarebytes executables onto a 1 gig stick and run it from that drive, or will I need to install Malwarebytes to their PC to run it, because ‘Fast Disk’ will not let me install anything new, at all?
CrybKeeper, using HijackThis you need manually select malicious entries (look the step 2), next clean Temp folder and after that, download and run Malwarebytes.
Hello Patrick,
It worked! =) Fast Disk may have also set up a proxy server, to display web ads with(we never had the proxy enabled before this). The PC is running flawlessly once again. Thank you Patrick!
Guess what? My daughter just got this ‘Fast Disk baddy’ on our laptop. Guess where it came from? 100% positive, Farmville game on Facebook! This is the third PC I have seen corrupted and all 3 users were playing Farmville when it attacked. We also have a neighbor, lives a block behind us, who also is getting strange reports from Nortons Anti-virus and she suspects it came from Farmville also.
Yep, it has set up a proxy connection on our laptop again. internet only works for the Fast Disk purchase, but otherwise will not connect. DVD drive broken, control broken, sys restore broken. AAaaarrrgh! >:(
CrybKeeper, reboot your PC in Safe mode with networking, reset proxy settings, update Malwarebytes and perform a fresh scan. If it does not help, then ask for help in our Spyware removal forum.
